About Me
I was born and raised in Cameroon to a very hard-working father (Journalist and author Larry Bate Takang) and a very supportive mother, Nalvine Tambe-Echu. My love for arts was noticed at a very young age when, out of nowhere and without any training, I started producing pieces of arts from pencil. These pieces impressed my parents, friends and relatives so much so that my dad felt that I needed to add oil and water colour painting to my repertoire. With a little bit of guidance, I excelled to developing my own style, taste and concept, but most importantly, establishing myself as and very creative and hardworking abstract artist.
So far, my works have been featured in high end fashion shops, galleries, cafes, churches, hotels, restaurants and private residences across the country, as well as abroad.
EDUCATION
My love for arts led me to studying and graduating with a BA degree in Visual and Media Arts from The University of Bamenda (UBa), Cameroon. After University, I spent my days fine tuning my talent as my passion grew. As my passion grew, I realised that apart from painting on canvas and dabbling on pottery and sculpturing, I had a romantic relationship and great passion for fashion. I have since spent a lot of man hours hand painting on fabric (see gallery), and collaborating with a number of fashion designers, as well as colleague artists, who have been mightily interested in my artworks and painting style. Apart from painting on canvas, I hand paint oil painting designs and exciting artworks on T-shirts, garments, traditional attires, hats, shoes etc etc.
My designs on fabric and leather feature in a number of shops in several cities in Cameroon and many have found their way across the globe.
I have also had a growing number of clients (young and old) ordering and loving original and unique hand-painting fabric ranging from T-shirts to traditional attire, as well as different designs of male and female dresses which have been sent to me to add colour (designs) to.
My greatest works are my paintings on canvas which are unique and very heavy with details and messages.
